Finn is ESE’s newest team member and has joined the company as part of his research MSc in Chemistry. His year-long degree will involve him working closely with founder Dr Jose Gonzalez Rodriguez as they develop ESE’s polymers.

Having previous studied Forensic Science at the University of Lincoln, Finn was already familiar with Jose’s teaching style and eager to benefit from his supervision while working at ESE. He enjoys the independence of a research degree and is thriving under the workplace experience as it constantly encourages his hard work and dedication.

Commenting on what initially attracted him to ESE, Finn says: “The work carried out at ESE can have a real effect on the world and create a more sustainable future for us all.

I think it is an incredibly powerful thing that I can hold the polymers in my hand and know that they can play a part in improving the environment and making the UK more self-sustainable.”

At ESE Finn has received in-depth training on all of the laboratory equipment (including his favourite the XRF!) and is involved in the entire process of developing the polymer technology. His responsibilities revolve around the need of ESE’s clients as this innovative technology can be adapted to suit many different requirements.

Finn finds working in the labs incredibly satisfying and rewarding as he is able to see his own work and ideas transformed into a usable product that can benefit the environment. He is hopeful for the future development of ESE as it continues to attract clients from all across the world.

When he isn’t spending hours in the lab, Finn can be found participating in one of his many hobbies, which range from chess to martial arts. He particularly enjoys riding motorcycles and is in the process of building an entire bike from scratch!
